>> we dedicate this game to brian stow. >> it is not every game you see players and fans brought to tears. and once a giant, now a dodger. juan uribe came back to san francisco to accept his world series ring, embraced by former teammates and fans who still love him, despite the uniform he now wears. on very few occasions the game is over shadowed by another event, but it happened tonight, over shadowed by the show of unity from giants and dodgers fans facing off for the first time since a giants fan was beaten at a game last week. and they took extraordinary measures to make sure the game was safe. security as tight tonight as the world series games. how did the fans react to all of this? >> reporter: well, you know, raj, it's always tense inside the ballpark when the giants host the dodgers. but tonight, the fans that we

talked to say they left the bad blood at the gate so everyone could enjoy the game. san francisco police make their presence known at at&t park during the giants-dodgers game. the rivalry took a turn when two men attacked ryan stow outside of dodger stadium. fans say the security is a comfort, about you they don't think it will be a problem. >> we're here to see good baseball, and that's it. i think everyone else should leave the drama behind. we're just here to see what we love. and unfortunately, he loved the dodgers. >> reporter: fans sporting lots of dodger blue inside the park. jeff said he was a little nervous showing his team pride. >> when i was in the parking lot, the jacket was zipped up a little bit. >> reporter: he says fans can be intense in san francisco. but admits the day stow was attacked in l.a., the crowd was scary. >> if we're winning, you know, they can be kind of crazy. but for the most part, not so

many problems there. it's been pretty -- it's definitely worse in l.a. for giants fans. i was there for opening day. it was brutal, hostile environment. >> reporter: stow is still in the hospital with a serious head injury. his co-workers raised funds for the family before the game. >> thank you very much. >> reporter: fans of both teams donated. his co-workers are confident that the rivalry will stay on the field. >> they are great fans. >> reporter: giants and dodgers fans stood shoulder to shoulder during a tribute to stow and good sportsmanship, a unified move police hope will last. and so far, sfpd says no serious incidents to report. as far as raising money for brian stow, a silent auction inside the ballpark raised $7500, and fans donated $58,000. reporting live in san francisco, nbc bay area news. >> now to dodger stadium, where

some $61,000 was also raised for brian stow today, $5,000 of that from former manager tommy lasorda, who had harsh words for the men who attacked stow. >> we're going to get you. i guarantee you that. you've got the right people after you. you're not going to get away with it. >> more than 100 volunteers collected funds there today to help stow's family with food and lodging while they are by his bodiside in los angeles. for information on how to donate, go to our website and search for stow. just in, murders unsolved for decades could be a mystery no more. tomorrow, this man, 77-year-old joseph nasa, will be charged with a string of murders dating back to the 1970's. he arrested in tahoe today. he was detained after being

released frel do rad oh county jail. he had not lived in his reno county home for years. he will be charged with murders in 1978, 1979, 1993, and 1994. new at 11:00, two attacks at the u.c. berkeley campus. tonight, a first look at the two sketches of what could be one or maybe even two sexual predators. the sketch on the left was provided by the first victim, a student who police say was robbed and sexual assaulted near javelin grove early friday morning. about an hour earlier, a man grabbed another student near the life sciences building. she provided the sketch on the right. it's still unclear if the assaults are in any way connected. female students on the peninsula at stanford are also on alert after a graduate student was sexual assaulted while she slept. campus police say that attack happened saturday night. and if you can imagine, the campus is stunned. now a report live from stanford. that's just not what they're

used to on that campus, george. >> reporter: no, not at all. many of the grad students here say they are aware of what's happened here on the stanford campus because they all received email alerts by the university. one woman says she doesn't feel safe anymore. stanford grad students are making sure all of the doors and windows are locked now before going to bed. this woman lives in escondido village, a community of grad students on the stanford campus. last saturday night, public safety investigators say a woman was sexually attacked while she was sleeping. >> i was shocked because i had never expected these kinds of incidents here. >> reporter: police say the attacker walked into the apartment perhaps through an unlocked door or window around 9:30 at night. he then went into her bedroom. and while he allegedly sexual assaulted her, the woman woke up and screamed. the man then ran away. >> i locked my room, especially these doors and everything.

i take every precaution now. but you can't make sure. they can break into the house. this is the second time it's happening and it's really scary. >> reporter: the university sent out emails and text messages to students warning them to lock doors and windows. she says she doesn't feel safe. >> i don't want to live alone here. so if i go somewhere, i might have to go and stay somewhere else. >> reporter: now stanford public safety officers are still looking for this attacker, and the woman in the alleged assault was not hurt. live here on the stanford campus, nbc bay area news. it's a bizarre crime with few leads. four teenagers are behind bars and police are searching for a fifth. it all stems from yesterday's death of a popular 16-year-old boy in san francisco. murder and an arson plot. san francisco police say the teen was killed on the 2100 block of quesada avenue. his body was found on the first floor of a duplex soaked in gasoline. nbc bay area's cheryl hurd picks

up the story from here. >> you state your disbelief, no, not andy. not the kid who was walking around school, smiling, well liked. >> reporter: police says 16-year-old andy zeng's body was found in this building. this evening, one neighbor says he just wants to know what happened. >> well, i seen the police. there were some kids down there or whatever. and lo and behold, he got killed. i don't know. four little kids or whatever, looking for one. >> reporter: police arrested four teenaged boys ranging in age from 15 to 17. they are still looking for a fifth boy. a 15-year-old is being held on suspicion of murder, attempted arson, and conspiracy. neighbors say the owner of the house who lives on the top floor discovered the boy's body and found it lying on the carpet soaked in a flammable liquid. >> keeping it real closed lipped. i have lived here all my life.

i'm trying to find out what's going on. >> reporter: zeng was a sophomore in san francisco. the principal says he was popular. he says his friends worried about him when they didn't hear from him all weekend. >> the shock when people went online, was he murdered? was it suicide? what is going on? is somebody trying to cover up something? that's what really people were uncomfortable with. what's going on? we want answers. >> grief councillors will be on hand to help children deal with this tragedy. so what are they doing in there? that's what's being asked about the jury deliberating the fate of barry bonds. it was the second day of deliberations. the jury did listen intently and take notes as some of the most dramatic testimony in the perjury case was re-read to them th open court.

at testimony from kathy hoskins, who said on the stand she saw bonds use steroids. it was enough to keep the jury working quietly for the rest of the day. >> we seem to see on cases with this type of publicity jurors like to take their time. they want to be able to present to the world that they careful considered the evidence and didn't rush to judgment. >> bonds was back in court today. hoskins is the only person to have testified to actually having seen bonds use steroids. still ahead -- juan uribe cried tonight when he received his world series ring, but he could be crying again. tonight, a lawsuit against the former giant. why one bay area woman says he owes her thousands. and silicone valley ceos and their incredible perks. an in-depth look at what top executives want and what big companies will pay above and beyond the paycheck. a tarmac collision like none other.

this video just in tonight. a near disaster at jfk airport. watch carefully. the biggest commercial passenger jet in the world bumps that smaller jet right there. the air france plane was taxiing on the runway, leaving for paris, when it clipped the tail of that much smaller jet. the smaller plane got whipped around. remarkably, the 62 passengers on that smaller plane were not hurt. the body count appears to be rising in the case of a craigslist killer, the serial killer, or simply a dumping ground for other homicide victims? it's a stretch of beach on long island. and after today's discovery, the body count has risen to 10. here's nbc's ida siegel. >> reporter: the search for bodies ended for the night, but the hunt for a killer or possibly separate killers is still well underway.

as nassau county police are keeping a presence here at jones beach, urging people to call with information. earlier today, search teams set out to find more remains and they did. first a cadaver dog found what sources believe are human bones about a mile and a half from jones beach. and then later investigators discovered what appears to be a human skull, deep in the brush off ocean parkway near a bird sanctuary. >> it's all been very startling. all of it has been. i don't have a reaction to you because it's just amazing that we're finding these things. >> reporter: what exactly they found today isn't exactly clear. investigators aren't certain if the two discoveries belong to two different bodies. or when they were left here. they are investigating the possibility that they have found bodies number nine and 10. >> we want to bring to justice this animal that has obviously taken the lives of a number of people.

>> reporter: but just how many people this one serial killer has murdered is now up for e bate. thrsfi four bodies discovered last december were all prostitutes found on craigslist. sources say the more recent discoveries appear to be different, that they have more dissimilarities than similarities. it begs the question among investigators if they have uncovered a burial ground for a host of separate killers. >> we enjoy the beach quite a bit. never expect something like this to happen. >> reporter: the remains discovered today are now at the local medical examiner's office. the first task will be to confirm that they are in fact human bones. and then after that, they will try to figure out who they belong to. the search for bodies has been called off at this point. investigators believe they have covered all their bases and they will not be searching for more victims in the foreseeable future. reporting from jones beach in new york, i'm ida siegel for nbc bay area news. well, it is a sign of how

severe the situation is in japan when it comes to nuclear radiation. today on the one-month anniversary of that earthquake the severity of the nuclear crisis was raised to 7, which matches the level reached with the chernobyl accident. it was originally rated a 5, the same as three mile island. fukushima, though, continues to leak radiation into the atmosphere. now some 25,000 people are feared dead. the quake and the destruction have also disrupted toyota's assembly lines. the automaker telling u.s. dealers new cars could be in short supply this summer. and on friday, toyota's u.s. plants will face a one-day shutdown because supplies are so limited. state agents say they have netted a group of suspects using another state's trash to bilk

california out of billions of dollars. five people were arrested in and around the bay area. agents say they were double dipping, recycling cans and bottles that had already been recycled, sometimes out of state. this is illegal because out of state recyclables do not have that california redemption value. agents confiscated almost $70,000 in cash and gold bars and froze a bank account containing $8 million. . silicone valley ceos receive some of the most expensive perks and pay in the world but shareholders no longer have to be silent on the issue, and your say on pay is now louder and more public than ever. vicki nguyen has a peek at those perks. >> reporter: not only was he last year's third highest paid ceo at $70 million, but larry ellison's $1.8 million bill for private security goes to oracle. >> so out of proportion. >> reporter: steve jobs only takes a $1 salary, but apple

reimbursed him $248,000 for his jet. the $90 million gulf stream he gorst as a gift in 2009. and his bite of apple shares is worth about $1.8 billion. yahoo's carol bartz took in $39 million in 2009, and didn't have to pay the lawyer who negotiated her deal. the $110,000 bill went to yeah hooites-meursing. -- went to yahoo. >> well, they should be paid well, but i don't think it should be in excess of millions while others are being laid off. >> i think if the company is profitable, then i think it's acceptable. >> reporter: agree or not, there's no denying the perks go way beyond cash. google can park two helicopters and six jets at nasa's moffatt airfield. critics say it's special treatment that allowed these three to fly to tahiti and a wedding in montana. >> mark hurd, when he was here

with hewlett-packard before he got booted and went to oracle, had his tax planning fees paid for. >> reporter: the daily dot editor has spent 15 years covering silicone valley ceos. >> they know if the perks are outrageous. >> reporter: he says public companies are now required to give a nonbinding vote on executive pay, and social media is changing the landscape too. >> go and talk to other shareholders about it. yahoo finance message boards. you can tweet about the stocks you hold and what the ceo is doing. you should form a community of shareholders because now you at least have a say. >> we should have a say. >> i think it's important to voice my opinions. >> reporter: but some say the law should go further and make the vote binding. >> i think if they want to give someone power to say something it should mean something. >> reporter: no doubt it's good to be on top. but these days shareholders have a clear view of what's happening too, and more ways to say what they really think about ceo pay

today. 46 in san mateo. 48 in san jose. and a few 30s inland, especially in north bay. for tomorrow, the sun stays with us, but the clouds are going to be building as we are looking at showers returning back into the mix. not too much happening right now. just high level cloud cover across central california. but what we're watching is more energy building out here in the gulf of alaska. that's our next system. it's very weak. the heart of the storm is going to be heading well up into washington. we'll just get grays by the bottom edge of this. so this will mean showers here. getting introduced as we head into wednesday. may have to turn on the windshield wipers a bit, but not a big system by any means. the north bay, only .10 of an inch of rainfall. little to nothing expected for the east and the south bay. in the north bay, really the biggest portion of this system you'll see. meanwhile, temperatures dropping into the 30s. and heading into tomorrow, 65 in san jose. 64 in dublin. so another very nice day for us

juan uribe has some major league legal trouble tonight. uribe, who is now a dodger and in town tonight to play against the giants, is being sued by his former san francisco landlord who claims he damaged the two bedroom kocondo last season. he was cooking fish, when a grease fire triggered the sprinkler system. she says he owned up to the accident, telling her he'd take care of it, but it didn't. the fire caused $145,000 worth of damage, and there was flooding also, which caused water damage to two condos on a lower floor. >> juan has to pay that bill. > uppt -- aecurring tme for the gits, and it not pretty.
